My name is Aaron Reed and I want to thank you for your interest in the collection of fine jaspers, agates and other collectors grade stone specimens offered through this website. I am a professional nature photographer with a deep appreciation of geology and the incredible natural stones and minerals our planet offers. Across this website you will find high grade and rare specimens available for purchase by collectors, as well as those who simply find beauty in natures wonders.
Over the past decade I have grown my brand as a world-renowned fine art landscape photographer specializing in large format, museum quality works of art procured by collectors, fine art connoisseurs and international art galleries around the world.
During the first few months of the pandemic, while unable to travel for photography, I began photographing stones as a way to exercise my creativity during this time. Already a lover of abstract photography in general, I quickly realized how spectacular these treasures of nature were and how macro photography could be used to create artwork appreciated by those who love rocks and fine art as well.
Abstract Rock Shop FAQ
All of the specimens on this website are available for sale. Unless otherwise noted, all specimens have been polished and shipping is included at no additional cost inside the US. Shipping anywhere else in the world is a flat rate of $50 via USPS Priority Shipping. In the rare case that I cannot ship to your location, I reserve the right to cancel the order and refund your purchase including shipping costs. For large quality purchases outside the United States, please contact me prior to purchase to discuss insurance requirements and shipping options.
All transactions are completed using your choice of PayPal or Stripe payment systems. The eCommerce structure of this site is safe, secure and always kept up to date using the latest security technologies. Custom invoices can also be provided via PayPal for multiple specimen purchases that may include progressive volume discounts by inquiring via email or telephone.
All sales are considered final. I work tirelessly to procure, and to offer the highest quality specimens avail to me and showcase them using high resolution photography. I do not accept returns or provide refunds or exchanges for any products sold through this website. Specimen orders are shipped within one business day, excluding weekends, through USPS Priority Mail. Photography Print orders require three weeks to produce and ship and utilize a number of carriers depending on location and size of the print in question.
In an effort to keep this website visually beautiful, I have not included images of the backside of specimens. Higher end specimens often have videos available on my Instagram Account. If you would like additional photographs of the backsides or videos of any specimen, simply use to email link from the specimen page in question, providing a cell phone number that can receive text messages and I will be happy to send them over!
The Abstract Rock Shop Difference
The majority of lapidary artists and sellers in the rock business are also collectors. What this means is that 99% of the time, they are keeping the best material for themselves and then selling the rest, in an effort to keep collecting and to turn a profit in the process.
While there is nothing wrong with this approach, as a buyer, it limits your choice of high quality specimens and often times you pay higher prices for lower grade material. While I throughly appreciate and enjoy the specimens I own while I have them, I am a professional photographer and a businessman first, not a collector. Every single specimen you see on this website, or on the Abstract Rock Shop Instagram account is for sale. I never hold back quality specimens in an effort to move lower grade material.
I ship all orders on the next business day via USPS Priority Mail. I use new, quality shipping supplies for every order, not boxes run over by Fedex, newspaper from my rabbit cage and dirty socks. Every package I ship is fully insured. I carry the highest quality materials I can find and provide professional service with every order.
